I want to teach you guys the technique and secrets to hit a flat serve to the “T” from the deuce trying to find and punish that backhand of your opponent if we talk about a righty one. It also would work pretty well against left-handers if you find a sweet spot of a ball going stright to the back without getting any spin that will make it closer to his/her forehand.
When we last meet to talk about serve technique, I showed you guys how to perform the technique for a wide serve with slice from the deuce side with the goal of pushing the player out of the court looking forward for a second ball to the open spot. Now, for the flat serve, you guys have to keep in mind the same keys in terms of trophy position, toss to the 12 o’clock and the use of the imaginary line to avoid a rotation with the hips that will either push the ball to the net or take it to the middle of the service box.
Let’s take a look at the video to understand the technique and pull those details in the toss and footwork!!
