Tennis Fitness Drills – Footwork & Agility

Hey guys!! What is one of the most important things to master for a tennis player?? YES, FITNESS AND FOOTWORK!!  I’m so happy to be here writing this weekly post and bringing you this content. 2 exercises that are a must in any fitness routine!

DRILLS:

  1. Set up the cones forming a square and give numbers to the cones. Coaches will call the number while you wait in the middle of the square working on a quick feet movement. When the number is called, and depending which side is the cone, players will run to execute a shot. This could be done with the racquets in the hand, some extra weight material, an elastic band holding you to work more in strength, or even a medicine ball.
  2. Diamond setup and 3 balls in the hands. Numbering the cones again, coaches will call a number and the players have to run and place the balls on top of the cones. Pedaling back players recover to the center of the court.

Let’s get that fitness going. DON’T FORGET HOW IMPORTANT IS THE FITNESS PREPARATION FOR ANY TENNIS PLAYER, IT’S THE KEY TO IMPROVE AND GROW AS A PLAYER!!!
